Accompanist Profile: Sheila Simpson

Sheila Simpson has been involved with the festival for many years, both as piano accompanist and behind the scenes.

Sheila received a Masters Degree in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music.  She served for six years as company ballet pianist for the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, as well as pianist/composer for the US Women’s Gymnastics Federation, performing on four continents.  A published songwriter, Sheila studied songwriting with the legendary Doc Pomus for several years, and served as a board member for the Songwriters Guild of America.
